Last week, Jai Sharma and Laurel Thomas of Emmerdale experienced a bittersweet event as they were married on the same day that Rishi Sharma passed away.

Future episodes of Emmerdale are expected to take an unexpected turn as fan favourite Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) ends up being kidnapped.

According to ITV’s official spoilers, tensions are high as Laurel and Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) deal with Archie’s (Kai Assi) illness and their plans to travel to India are put on hold.

Jai is outraged, the home quickly turns into a battleground, and Laurel’s attempts to calm him down are ineffective, leaving him even more upset.

Jai’s lone trip to India will soon get underway, as Laurel mulls over her guilt at home and gets a warning from Jai’s cousin.

Laurel resolves to travel to India with her husband in an effort to help Jai, but when she goes to get Marshall Hamston’s (Max Fletcher) passport, his father Colin (Mark Noble) becomes hostile.

Without her phone, terrified, and in a terrifying situation, Laurel is entrapped and needs to find a way to escape Colin’s control.

Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler), who live in the village, start to worry when they don’t hear from Laurel.

The proprietor of the cafe rejects Suni’s request that she message Jai to ask what occurred because she believes they might need some space.

As Colin’s erratic behaviour worsens, discussions, supplications, and a desperate scheme take place.

As Laurel tries to run for the door, she accidentally hits Colin over the head in her haste.

She isn’t quick enough, though, and Colin has to lock her in.

In another scene, Laurel’s disappearance worries Jai, Nicola, and Suni, and Arthur (Alfie Clarke) confesses that she was supposed to go to Colin’s to pick up Marshall’s passport.

Unstable Colin makes Laurel unlock her phone inside the house, and he texts Jai in a way that suggests Laurel has relapsed.

Colin starts acting in increasingly risky ways, but fortunately for Laurel, the cops show up at his house.

Laurel is forced to worry for her life as a result of Colin’s manipulation, which prolongs her agony.

Soon after, Jai and Suni decide to act independently in their search for Laurel. Will they manage to locate her before it’s too late?
