While Chrishell Stause may now be most famous for starring in the Netflix reality series Selling Sunset, the actress got her big break starring as Amanda Dillon on All My Children and also played Jordan Ridgeway on Days of Our Lives, earning a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Performance in 2020. (She also made a brief appearance on The Young & The Restless as Bethany!) And now she’s joining the cast of another soap — Neighbours!

“I am honored and excited to join such a beloved and iconic show!” Stause shared in a statement. “Coming from the world of soaps in the U.S., it’s back to my first love in the entertainment industry. They pitched me an idea for a character, and I was immediately excited to figure out a way to make it happen. Ramsay Street, here I come!”

Stause is set to arrive in Australia in July to begin filming her guest role as Yasmine “Yas” Shields, a beautiful and successful businesswoman looking for an exciting new opportunity. The last beautiful businesswoman who came to Erinsborough looking for new opportunities was Chelsea Murphy (played by Viva Bianca), who dug her claws into the wealthy Paul Robinson and schemed her way into getting a ring on her finger. Unfortunately, at the engagement party, all of her lies were exposed — including how she caused Krista Sinclair to lose her baby — and she was run out of town… although Chelsea might be back one day with Paul’s baby (even if it might not actually be his!)!

While there are no details yet on what kind of a character Yas is and what kind of drama she’ll bring to the show, Neighbours Executive Producer, Jason Herbison said, “We are thrilled to welcome Chrishell to the cast of Neighbours. We created a character especially for her and we can’t wait for her to bring the storyline alive. Expect intrigue and surprises – and many implications for the residents of Ramsay Street.”

Neighbors currently airs in the US on Amazon Freevee with new 30-minute episodes every Monday through Thursday. The soap returned to the air in September 2023 after its over three-decade run came to an end in 2022, and fans of daytime drama should definitely check it out if they’re looking for an exciting new soap to watch!
