Ex-Coronation Street actor Richard Fleeshman and his fiancée are expecting their first child.

Richard Fleeshman makes the emotional video announcement that he is expecting a child eight years after leaving Coronation Street.

Richard Fleeshman, the former cast member of Coronation Street, has disclosed that he and his fiancée Celinde Schoenmaker are expecting their first child together.

The 35-year-old soap star, best known for playing teenage Craig Harris in Coronation Street from 2002 to 2006, has maintained a low profile while maintaining his acting resume with many stage performances, a part in Netflix’s The Sandman in 2022, and another in Syfy’s The Ark.

During his years on the long-running ITV soap, in which he could be seen cosying up with Helen Flanagan’s Rosie Webster character, he was also known for his blossoming music career, supporting Sir Elton John on his Summer stadium tour in 2008.

Fleeshman announced his engagement in 2022 in a photo to Instagram captioned: “Went to Africa with my girl. I’ll be heading home with a fiancee. Couldn’t be happier”. And now the couple have taken teh next step in their relationship as they prepare to welcome a third member to their family.

On Sunday, August 4 Fleeshman reposted a video showing his partner’s visible baby bump. The clip, which the Dutch actress shared to Instagram, was captioned: “We’ve not met you yet, but never been more in love. I don’t think Luna (the cat) realises she’s not gonna be cutest in the household for much longer. @rfleeshman so many new adventures ahead.”

In the reel, which has over 7,000 likes, Celinde shares the spotlight with the couple’s cat, Luna, as she walks towards a window, letting in light in her dimly lit room. Despite the lack of lighting, Celinde’s round belly can be spotted. Several celebrities commented to congratulate the couple, including Irish TV presenter Laura Whitmore and former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher.

Podcaster and author Giovanna Fletcher said: “I love this for you all” while musical theatre star Carrie Hope Fletcher told Schoenmaker: “What a journey you’re about to embark upon! Motherhood already suits you so well. Love you!”

In a follow-up post shared to her Instagram story, she said: “Thank you for all your gorgeous messages, our hearts are completely overflowing and we feel so lucky to have such amazing people in our lives.”
