To say things between Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and daughter Penny (Kitty Castledine) are not good in EastEnders right now might be somewhat of an understatement – but things get even more complicated for the pair next week.

Fans of the BBC soap have seen Jack choose to sacrifice Penny after the truth about Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) causing the club crush emerged last week.

Denise Fox (Diane Parish) revealed her daughter’s secret to the rest of the Fox-Branning family, realizing the harm it was causing. Jack blamed Penny for her half-sister Amy Mitchell’s (Ellie Dadd) serious injuries from the crush.

However, just as Chelsea—who had accidentally triggered the incident by meddling with the online booking system to get back at Penny for taking her club manager job—thought it was all over, an unexpected twist unfolded…

Jack then called for a family vote between Penny and Chelsea, arguing that Penny was unlikely to end up in prison. Penny was crushed when Jack’s deciding vote went against her, leaving her to face the consequences.

In the upcoming episodes, Penny plots revenge by joining forces with Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) to take down her father.

Viewers will recall that Jack also crossed Harry by trying to have him arrested for his shady activities at The Arches.

After he and Penny obtain some serious dirt on Jack, the pair blackmail him in forthcoming scenes, with Harry giving him until the end of the week to agree to his terms.

However, later in the week, he makes a worrying discovery about Harry and informs Penny, worried about the implications it could have on his daughter.

Will it be enough for Penny to take a step back from Harry? And will father and daughter ever be able to reconcile?
