Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) thinks things have been tough so far, but they’re only going to get worse for her in Emmerdale.

Moira’s mourning the loss of her freedom thanks to the tumour in her brain, as her family are treating her with kid gloves after she proved herself to be a liability – and a sheep killer.

She not only accidentally poisoned the flock with paint, but she also took off in the Land Rover against medical advice and ultimately ended up having a ginormous seizure in the woods. Had Mack not found her, she’d have gone the way of the sheep.

As her medication takes longer than expected to take effect, her seizures become increasingly frequent. During her latest episode, she was in the midst of cooking breakfast just as Cain (Jeff Hordley) returned home from visiting his father.

It was a perilous moment for Moira to lose consciousness with hot bacon fat sizzling nearby, serving as a stark wake-up call for her.

Shortly after, she received a call from the hospital informing her that she had been prioritized for surgery. However, just as Cain returned home, he learned of his father’s death, prompting Moira to decide to postpone the operation without informing anyone.

This choice could have dire consequences, as there was no guarantee of when another surgery date would be available, and her tumor could potentially grow unexpectedly.

But Moira is wearing her lucky pants as she gets wind that she’s been given a new date for the op.

For most, this would be welcome news, but it leaves Moira devastated. She is terrified and acutely aware that one slip of the knife could mean she becomes a completely different person, or worse, leave her children without a mother.

Yet, she also understands that she cannot postpone the surgery any longer—another seizure could prove fatal.

Fearful of what lies ahead, she makes a drastic decision and reaches out to Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) with a significant request for help. The question remains: will Vanessa agree to assist her sick friend with such a big ask?
