LAUREN Bolton is set to make a shock confession after Joel Deering’s funeral is confirmed in Coronation Street.
The teen was previously pursued and groomed by the corrupt lawyer, which led to devastating circumstances.
The police were closing in on Joel (Callum Lil) after his secret life was exposed to the people of Weatherfield.
He had previously attempted to force Lauren (Cait Fitton) into terminating her pregnancy by secretly spiking her soup with medication. As a result, she gave birth prematurely to their son, Frankie. In a state of panic, Joel allegedly took his own life.
After he missed a court hearing, a warrant was issued for his arrest, leading to his body being discovered in a river.
A post-mortem examination revealed that Joel had actually died before entering the water, sparking a major whodunnit storyline.
In upcoming scenes, viewers will witness his funeral as Lauren grows closer to Joel’s former fiancée, Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown).
As a gesture of gratitude for providing her and Frankie a place to stay on Coronation Street, Lauren presents Dee-Dee with flowers. Additionally, Lauren’s social worker is scheduled to visit the flat to assess her progress.
However, Dee-Dee will become panicked as she finds an old love note from Joel, just as she will start to make the tea.
She will be overcome with shock by what she sees in the cupboard and will flee the flat in a fit of devastation.
Meanwhile, Bobby (Jack Carroll) will stop by number eight to confront Max (Paddy Bever) about why he’s been avoiding him.
Lauren will accompany her friend, both insisting that they aren’t ghosting him. Bobby will press them for answers, demanding to know what they’re hiding. However, Lauren is preoccupied with her own thoughts, as she tries to distract herself from the upcoming funeral of Joel.
So she will extend an olive branch to Bobby and invite him to accompany her to the hospital for a visit to baby Frankie.
However, Lauren will be left completely shocked when she goes to the baby unit as Max will be there.
Lauren will be left completely shocked when he tells her that he has feelings for her.
Although, she later admits that she feels the same way.
