Tina Dingle (now portrayed by Samantha Power) made a surprising comeback in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale, and despite her brief stay in the village, she certainly left a mark.

The community has been in mourning this week following the news of Zak Dingle’s (Steve Halliwell) passing.

Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Sam (James Hooton) traveled to Scotland a few days earlier to bring Zak’s body back home for burial on Dingle land.

Tonight’s episode of the ITV soap began with Cain and Sam getting Zak’s grave ready, a sight that was hard for Marlon (Mark Charnock) to process.

The funeral, organized so swiftly with the Dingles at the forefront, was, perhaps surprisingly, quite chaotic and boisterous. In the pub, while some family members and friends reminisced about Zak, Marlon, Paddy (Dominic Brunt), and Mandy (Lisa Riley) took to the karaoke to perform songs from Zak’s playlist.

After some time in the pub, the Dingles transported Zak’s body to Wishing Well. There, they laid him to rest in the ground—not anywhere near Shadrach Dingle, of course.

Just as celebrant Marlon contemplated what to say to the family, they were interrupted by the loud arrival of Tina Dingle.

Having been absent from the village for nearly 30 years, Tina didn’t recognize her younger sister, Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper). Despite her long absence, Tina claimed to know quite a bit about her relatives thanks to Mandy, who had been in touch.

As the funeral took a turn, the Dingles questioned why Tina had suddenly appeared, arguing that she didn’t have the right to say goodbye to their father.

The familiar face disagreed, choosing instead to provoke them by bringing up their criminal past.

After Mandy discovered pictures of Wishing Well on Tina’s phone, the fiery character declared that she believed she deserved a share of the property.

She then shifted her focus to Lydia (Karen Blick) and questioned what she actually saw in her brother Sam.

Annoyed, Lydia pushed Tina, sending her tumbling into a large puddle of mud.

It was a comical moment, and while Tina struggled to get back on her feet, Lydia pointed out that Zak’s will stated he had left the house to Sam, Belle, and Cain.

Still on the ground, Tina couldn’t hide her ankle monitor, which Charity (Emma Atkins) spotted.

As the family chuckled at her hypocrisy, a police car pulled up.

Naturally.

Fortunately, it wasn’t PC Swirling who showed up, but two other officers there to take Tina away.

One of the officers informed Tina that her ankle tag wouldn’t be removed until the next day, indicating that she had violated the conditions.

As she walked past her family, preparing to depart the Dales in a police car, she turned back to the Dingles and declared, “This isn’t over!”

Reflecting on her debut in the show, Samantha Power shared, “My husband remarked that he had never seen me this nervous before. My very first scene on my first day took place at the graveside with ALL the Dingles! That’s quite a crowd, right? Thankfully, everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. I want to give a special shout-out to Lisa Riley; she truly is the nicest person.”

“When I met her at the screen test, I instantly felt at ease. She couldn’t have been more supportive, generous, and encouraging—it stayed that way every day on set! Working with her was such a joy,” Samantha added.

Describing her character, she continued, “Tina is bold, brash, and self-centered, always with some hidden agenda. She’ll stop at nothing to get what she wants.”

“She’s a master at manipulating people, especially the Dingles, so I don’t think any of them are safe from her tricks.”
