With Gail Platt’s (Helen Worth) departure on the horizon, Coronation Street is set to throw more twists at the family next week.

David (Jack P. Shepherd) believes he is responsible for his mother’s heart attack, while Jesse (John Thomson) pushes for answers.

Amid the chaos, several secrets are being kept by those involved, but a shocking revelation soon leaves the family stunned.

Meanwhile, the car crash that damaged Joel Deering’s vehicle offers a new lead for DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers).

However, Lisa finds herself under scrutiny when her daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) starts to suspect that her own mother might be the killer.

But Lisa isn’t the only one hiding the truth about her whereabouts on that tragic night.

The question remains: what was Carla Connor (Alison King) really doing?

Sunday October 27

As the Platts gather at Gail’s hospital bedside, tensions run high, with David blaming himself for her condition. When Jesse presses David for answers, David lashes out in frustration.

Shona then reveals that Jesse has returned to No.8 on his own, triggering David’s panic. Meanwhile, Damon contacts Sarah, explaining that although shifting the blame for the stolen money onto one of Harvey’s associates earned him a beating, it has cleared them of suspicion.

Sarah’s initial relief turns bittersweet when Damon tells her they must cut all contact and abruptly ends the call. She later informs Jesse that Damon has confirmed she’s no longer in Harvey’s crosshairs and offers an apology for ever doubting him.

With Nick away, Toyah stops by to check on Sam. Though initially cold, Sam softens when Toyah offers him an apology. Nick returns home to find the two bonding over model-building.

Impressed by Toyah’s ability to connect with Sam, Nick confesses that he still has feelings for her. In response, Toyah pulls him in for a kiss.

At the flat, Bethany surprises Daniel with breakfast, but when he enters unannounced and notices her stoma bag for the first time, Bethany is mortified and angrily orders him to leave.

Meanwhile, Ken and Cassie make plans for excursions in Porto and head out to shop for holiday clothes. Steve, feeling jealous, is taken aback by how striking Cassie looks in her new jacket.

Elsewhere, Kit grows increasingly suspicious of Dee Dee. Listening to her conversation with Gus about attending the funeral out of forgiveness, he remains unconvinced.

Monday October 28

While investigating a vandalised car, Lisa discovers it was damaged on the same road where Joel was attacked, and on the same night. The car’s owner recalls hearing two men arguing outside his flat. Lisa confides in Dee Dee, mentioning that the car was struck by a red vehicle.

Lisa discovers Ronnie’s red car was in for repair and tackles him in The Rovers. Later in the flat Carla is praising Lisa for her work and juggling motherhood but as Carla lays a comforting hand on her, Lisa flinches and makes a swift exit, leaving Carla gutted.

Gemma, Bernie and the quads return from their trip. Bernie and Billy disagree again over her plan to send the ashes into space. Billy refuses to give her his share.

Chesney finishes the deep-clean of Prima Doner but he’s outraged when Dev says that he won’t be paid for the whole month the place is shut, due to his zero-hours contract. Bernie is furious with Dev as Chesney is forced to take a delivery job for minimum wage on zero hours.

When Cassie reveals she’s going on a date later, Steve’s disparaging about the man she’s meeting. Cassie reckons he sounds jealous but when her date doesn’t go to plan Steve comes to the rescue, takes her to The Rovers and boosts her self esteem.

Leanne informs Nick that she can’t handle being front-of-house following the fallout at The Institute and suggests he find someone else for the role.

In response, Nick proposes the bistro manager position to Toyah, telling her that they work well together and that it would help Leanne get accustomed to seeing them as a team.

Meanwhile, Jesse has an announcement that will shock the Platt family.

Wednesday October 30

When Betsy enters the bathroom and notices Lisa’s bruises, she doubts Lisa’s explanation about getting them from a body combat class. She then discovers a bottle of painkillers dated September 28.

Shocked, she informs Mason, who reveals that Joel was killed on the 27th. Betsy is further unsettled when Daisy mentions that Joel was involved in a fight on the night of his death.

Meanwhile, Ryan questions Carla about her honesty regarding her whereabouts that night, but Carla insists she only stepped out to turn off the factory lights.

Bernie and Gemma throw the quads a birthday party at No.5. She is still furious with Dev and Asha tells him he needs to pull off a big romantic gesture. The Alahans join the quads’ party. As Bernie blanks him, Dev tells Aadi he followed his advice to try a big gesture.

Ken’s oblivious that Cassie and Steve spent the night together. Adam calls round and is perturbed to learn Ken’s forked out for airport lounge tickets and first-class flights.

Adam confides in Steve that he’s worried where Ken is finding the money to fund his and Cassie’s lavish lifestyle and fears he’s running up debts. Adam and Steve agree that, once Ken and Cassie return from Porto, a family intervention is needed.

While sharing a beer at the bistro, Ryan tells Kit that breaking up with Daisy was the right choice, but he still feels her absence.

As Ryan enumerates Daisy’s expectations for a partner, he remains oblivious to Kit, who is taking mental notes. Meanwhile, Daisy is excited when Kit presents her favorite chocolates and pretends to be addicted to watching Real Housewives. Kit is satisfied that his insider knowledge is paying off.

Friday November 1

Lisa fabricates a story for Betsy, claiming her bruises came from an office accident. Carla confesses to Bobby that she did step out to the factory on the night of Joel’s murder, despite telling the police she was at home all evening with him and Ryan.

At the police station, Lisa tells Kit that if Joel was planning to go on the run, he would have had personal belongings with him, and finding those could help identify his killer.

Kit is frustrated by her interference. Following a formal complaint against her, an agitated Lisa accuses Daisy and Kit of wrongdoing.

When Liam accidentally walks in front of Chesney’s car, Mason pulls him back just in time. Mason apologizes for his past bullying and reassures Liam that he has changed. After witnessing their intense conversation, Dev informs Gary, who decides to take action himself.

Billy meets with the bishop and assures him that he’s ready to go back to work. However, while reviewing his paperwork, he reaches a decision.

Bernie organizes a screening of the video featuring Paul’s ashes at the pub. Upon learning from Jenny that an anonymous donor has funded the buffet, Bernie realizes it’s Dev. Billy is taken aback by the news of the screening and confronts Bernie about it.

When Ryan accidentally reveals that Daisy’s favorite movie is The Holiday, Kit makes a mental note and suggests watching it to celebrate his last night at the pub.

As Kit flirts with Daisy, Ryan is taken aback by his deception and confronts him.
