Former EastEnders star Davood Ghadami has reunited with his former co-star James Bye, three years after his departure from the BBC soap.

Davood, 42, portrayed market trader Kush Kazemi for seven years until the character met a tragic end—pushed in front of a tube train by abuser Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith).

Kush had planned to start a new life with Whitney (Shona McGarty) but was unaware that Gray was lurking on the platform, waiting to strike. Initially introduced as a close friend of James’ character, Martin Fowler, Kush’s bond with him soon unraveled.

Kush had fathered Stacey Slater’s (Lacey Turner) son Arthur, with Martin believing him to be his own child.

Despite plenty of arguments and fights on-screen, the bond between the two characters was eventually restored.

Off-screen, however, Davood and James have remained close, reuniting in a heartwarming photo shared on Instagram.

James posted a sweet picture of the pair smiling for the camera, captioning it, “Having dinner with a very ‘special’ friend.” Davood later re-shared the photo on his Instagram story, adding a playful sticker that read, “Ur special.”

Following his departure from EastEnders, Davood Ghadami took on the role of Eli Ebrahimi in the final season of Holby City.

Fans were disappointed when the popular medical drama ended, but Davood had the chance to reprise his character in its sister show, Casualty, in the years that followed.

Earlier this year, reports emerged that Davood had joined the cast of a new Amazon Prime Video series, House of David.

The religious drama will explore the life of the biblical figure David, who rose to become the King of Israel.

Davood Ghadami is set to portray Eliab, David’s eldest brother, a distinguished warrior serving in King Saul’s army.
