Earlier this week on Coronation Street, Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) was thrown into panic when her flat was broken into by one of Harvey Gaskell’s (Will Mellor) associates. Harvey, suspecting Sarah was behind the theft of a large sum of money, wanted answers.

The trouble started when Sarah learned about the cash from her former boyfriend, Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths), who offered it to help cover her daughter Bethany’s (Lucy Fallon) medical expenses. Damon revealed he had stashed the money away, avoiding detection by the police during his arrest for armed robbery.

However, before Sarah could decide, the money mysteriously disappeared. To make matters worse, Harvey retaliated by sending someone to break into Sarah’s place and even arranged for Damon to be attacked in prison, leaving the Platt family fearful they might be next.

In tonight’s episode, Sarah finally received some relief when Damon called to say he had successfully set up one of Harvey’s own men to take the blame for the missing money.

Yet, viewers know that the actual thief was Sarah’s brother, David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd), who intended to use the cash to buy Gail Platt’s (Helen Worth) house.

Unfortunately, David’s hiding spot wasn’t well-concealed, and it didn’t take Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson) long to discover the stash. Although Jesse initially threatened to expose David to Gail, he later decided to help him deal with the money. David was relieved, but is Jesse truly someone he can trust?
