Coronation Street fans believe they have figured out the identity of the new owner of the Rovers Return—and it’s a familiar face from the soap.

The iconic pub is one of the most recognizable establishments in soap history, boasting a rich narrative throughout its 60 years on air. However, last year, landlady Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) encountered financial difficulties, putting the historic venue at risk of closure.

Fortunately, Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) and Jenny managed to recover funds that were stolen by murderer Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce), who was Jenny’s former partner.

After his demise, Carla (Alison King) was heartbroken, thinking she would never see her money again, unaware that Daisy had accessed Stephen’s bank accounts and taken the cash to purchase the pub.

In April, the truth finally emerged, leading an enraged Carla to lay down the law for Jenny and Daisy after learning they had stolen from her. She declared, “Until you two pay me back every single penny, this place is mine,” meaning that Carla now owned the pub.

However, following recent events in Weatherfield, fans are convinced that a new owner is on the horizon. Many online speculate that David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) and Shona (Julia Goulding) will take over the Rovers.

This week, it was revealed that David had pilfered dirty money from Damon’s (Ciarán Griffiths) dealings to buy his mother Gail’s (Helen Worth) house. Fans are now speculating that he might use that money to invest in the Rovers—and potentially live there as well.

In a Reddit discussion, one user suggested: “Time for new Rovers owners? Who should it be?” Another chimed in: “David. Lol.

That would be interesting!” A third added, “Yeah, David and Shona would be great.” Someone else proposed, “David, Shona, Max, and Lily could move in and live at the Rovers. I don’t want David to go to prison; he’s not a bad person, and Shona could be the landlady.”
