A chilling twist awaits the residents of Coronation Street as one of its most notorious killers is set to make a comeback in the coming weeks.

Clayton Hibbs, Shona Platt’s troubled son (played by Julia Goulding), will be reintroduced after she receives news from the prison where he’s currently serving time.

Fans will remember the horrifying moment Clayton fatally stabbed David’s wife, Kylie, in broad daylight, marking one of the soap’s most traumatic scenes. David was left devastated, cradling Kylie as she died in his arms on the cobbles.

In the aftermath, David attempted to take revenge on Clayton before the teen was eventually apprehended and sentenced to prison. In later storylines, Clayton even held his mother at gunpoint. Now, with his return confirmed by Metro, his reappearance promises to dredge up painful memories and could strain David and Shona’s current stability.

Actor Callum Harrison, who last appeared in 2020, has already filmed his scenes, though this return isn’t set to be a long-term storyline.

Since leaving Corrie, Paula Lane, who portrayed Kylie, has appeared in Emmerdale as Ella Foster—a character who, fittingly, turned out to be a troubled child herself.

Clayton’s return scenes are scheduled to air next month.
