Peggy’s might soon see a change in ownership on EastEnders, as an unexpected figure is set to announce plans to purchase the troubled club next week.

Currently, the E20 nightspot is owned by Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and named after his late mother, the iconic Peggy Mitchell, who was famously portrayed by Barbara Windsor.

Recently, however, Peggy’s doors have remained shut following a tragic incident at the venue over the summer.

A number of Walford residents were injured during the chaos, which was unintentionally caused by Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams). In an attempt to sabotage new manager Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine), Chelsea manipulated the club’s online booking system, leading to a dangerously overcrowded situation that resulted in a crush among panicked guests.

Now that the police investigation into the incident appears to have concluded—with Chelsea escaping serious consequences—spoilers reveal Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) plans to take over the club.

Teddy shares his intention to buy Peggy’s with his son Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway), expressing a desire to become a respectable businessman and impress his younger son, Barney (Lewis Bridgeman). Barney has been struggling after experiencing Ravi Gulati’s (Aaron Thiara) violent behavior, stemming from a misunderstanding regarding his daughter, Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James).

The family faces additional challenges when Barney returns home from visiting his mother. Harry’s probing about what happened leaves his brother feeling more isolated, while Teddy grapples with despair.

Will becoming the new owners of Peggy’s provide the fresh start they desperately need?

However, peace may be short-lived, as it was recently announced that Teddy’s ex-wife and Harry and Barney’s mother, Nicola Mitchell, will soon arrive in Walford.

Portrayed by Laura Doddington, Nicola is described as “strong and completely unapologetic.” Laura has added that “Nicola is a complex woman who comes in like the Tasmanian Devil!”
