Former Emmerdale star Fiona Wade recently celebrated her anniversary with her husband and fellow actor, Simon Cotton.
Fiona, known for portraying Priya Kotecha on the ITV soap from 2011 to 2023, has been married to London-born writer and actor Simon since 2019.
After their engagement, Fiona shared details of Simon’s proposal during an interview on Lorraine:
“It was a series of clues involving my best friends and my mother. He took me to a beautiful hotel in London, then to my family home where my dad passed away. The setting was filled with candles and flowers, and the next day, we went to Paris.”
Five years after their wedding, Fiona shared a heartfelt tribute to Simon on Instagram in celebration of their anniversary.
In a series of photos capturing their cherished moments, Fiona expressed her love in the caption: “Happy 5 years, baby!! ❤️🎉🎉 These have been the happiest 5 years of my life because of you. I love you endlessly, and I can’t wait to spend eternity with you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
In 2017, Simon appeared on Emmerdale as Home Farm client Hugh Bryant. Hugh visited after Rebecca White (Emily Head) organized a team-building day for his business at Tree Top Adventure World.
However, the event took a chaotic turn when Hugh’s car caught fire, leading him to cut ties with Home Farm.
Aside from Emmerdale, Simon has starred in The Fall Of The Krays, The Unseen, Doctors, and Amazon Prime’s Hanna.
Priya left the Dales for a fresh start in London after being offered an exciting new job last year.
Her decision to leave came after a traumatic experience at Take A Vow, where a small fire brought back memories of the maze fire that had left her with lasting scars. This moment made Priya realize she needed to move forward, and when the job offer appeared, she was ready to take it.
