Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) might see himself as a skilled businessman in Emmerdale, but the reality couldn’t be further from the truth.
Caleb Miligan (William Ash) has completely taken advantage of him, and Jai remains blissfully unaware of it.
Though Jai prides himself on being the village’s entrepreneurial mastermind, he’s blind to the fact that Caleb is simply taking advantage of his naivety—and his finances.
Frustrated, Jai has grown increasingly irritated with Caleb for failing to deliver on their business deal, pushing him close to his breaking point.
Jai dislikes nothing more than losing control—he was even more riled up during his divorce from Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy). Caleb, however, has no intention of giving Jai any control, nor returning any of his investment.
Matters worsen when Jai learns that, despite his objections, Caleb has hired the notoriously unreliable Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton). Caleb’s reasons are unclear, though it seems he may have done it just to annoy Jai.
This is the final straw for Jai, who demands that Caleb return his money. But Caleb has cleverly stashed it in an offshore account, and Jai has yet to realize he’s just a pawn in Caleb’s game. His funds are out of reach.
Feigning cooperation, Caleb makes a call, assuring Jai that the money retrieval process will take time. Left with no real options, will Jai reluctantly accept the delay, or will his suspicions finally lead him to see through Caleb’s schemes?
