EastEnders has revealed Bianca Jackson’s fate after being attacked by killer Reiss Colwell. The outspoken Walford resident, portrayed by Patsy Palmer, had been determined to expose her sister Sonia Fowler’s (Natalie Cassidy) fiancé, Reiss (Jonny Freeman), who she believed was responsible for the murder of his wife, Debbie Colwell.
This week, Bianca finally uncovered video evidence linking Reiss to Debbie’s death and confronted him with it. Reiss admitted to the murder during their confrontation, and Bianca vowed to bring him to justice using the evidence she had gathered.
However, in a panic, Reiss destroyed the laptop Bianca was using to view the CCTV footage, wiping out the evidence. In an emotional moment, Reiss shared details of his troubled past with Debbie and his reasons for killing her, but he refused to fully confess, even though he knew Sonia could end up in prison for the crime.
Bianca demanded that Reiss turn himself in, but he proposed a deal: they could find a way to exonerate Sonia without sending him to prison. He claimed to have hidden the murder weapon, a pillow, in a storage facility and offered to give it to Bianca in exchange for her help in fleeing the country.
Bianca, armed with a candlestick for protection, agreed to go along with Reiss’s plan for Sonia’s sake. At the storage facility, however, she discovered it was soundproofed, and Reiss admitted there was no pillow. In a violent outburst, he attacked Bianca with a metal object and blanket.
Thursday’s (November 7) episode began with a panicked Reiss returning to Sonia’s house covered in blood, suggesting he had killed Bianca and was attempting to dispose of her body. Reiss also had a head injury, but when Martin Fowler (James Bye) confronted him, Reiss blamed Bianca for the chaos and shut Martin out.
Later, DI Callum Highway (Tony Clay) and Martin questioned Reiss about Bianca’s whereabouts, but Reiss was desperate to hide a heavy chest. Martin spread the word around Walford about Bianca’s apparent flight, adding that the police had found her abandoned taco van near a train station, suggesting she had fled.
In a tense moment, Reiss tried to move the chest, but an accident occurred when Bianca’s uncle Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) collided with his car. Reiss managed to escape, and later returned to the storage facility, where viewers discovered that Bianca was alive but chained up inside.
However, many fans were left frustrated by the episode’s plot holes. On X (formerly Twitter), one viewer posted: “So no one followed him to the storage unit? Not a single nosey neighbor, not even Mo? Ok. I’m not watching this show anymore.” Another commented: “If I was Bianca, I’d stay calm and find something sharp to cut the chains off… It’s a storage unit, there’s gotta be something!” A third viewer vented: “This Reiss storyline is really annoying me. And MARTIN?! MARTIN!!! Your days are numbered!!”
