New Peggy’s Owner Revealed in EastEnders – And It’s Set to Spark Controversy

Peggy’s has been closed since the tragic crowd crush earlier this year, but next week marks the beginning of a new chapter for the iconic Walford nightclub.

Earlier this month, Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) had expressed interest in purchasing the troubled venue in an effort to impress his son, Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman). However, he soon faces competition when his ex-wife, Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington), steps in with her own plans to cause trouble for him.

The week starts with Teddy attempting to make a formal offer to current owner Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), but his lowball bid is rejected. Phil reveals that another party is interested in the sale.

Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Phil’s ex-wife, encourages him to reconsider, questioning whether he truly wants to let go of the club. But Phil brushes off her concerns and presses forward, despite the obvious toll it’s taking on him.

Meanwhile, Nicola, newly arrived in Walford, sees an opportunity to stir things up for Teddy. After securing accommodation, she overhears him arranging a meeting with Phil to finalize the sale and decides to make her own move.

Nicola confronts Phil with a last-minute offer—could this be enough to outbid Teddy?

As actress Laura Doddington, who plays Nicola, puts it: “Nicola knows exactly what she wants and isn’t afraid to make waves. She’s always looking for a way to turn any situation to her advantage.”

The biggest question now is—what will the new owner choose to call the venue, formerly known as The Cobra Club, e20, Angie’s Den, Scarlet, R&R, and Ruby’s?
