EastEnders star Jonny Freeman recently teased the fate of a popular character following a major murder twist involving his character, Reiss Colwell.

The actor, who portrays Reiss, spoke exclusively about the aftermath of Sonia Fowler’s arrest for the murder of Debbie Colwell. Fans know that Reiss was the true killer, but he allowed his pregnant fiancée, Sonia, to take the fall. Sonia was devastated when she was sent to prison for a crime she didn’t commit, unaware that Reiss was behind it all.

Sonia’s sister, Bianca Jackson, had started to uncover the truth, leading to a tense showdown between the two characters. Reiss appeared to attack Bianca last week in his hidden storage unit, sparking fears that she had been killed off. However, it was later revealed that Bianca was still alive but being held captive by Reiss in the unit.

Reiss tried to cover up his actions, hiding an injury and attempting to move a mysterious chest, which raised suspicions among the Walford residents. When Martin Fowler urged Reiss to speak to the police after Bianca’s abandoned van was found, it became clear that someone was bound to realize what Reiss had done.

Reiss, however, has refused to release Bianca, keeping her locked up until Sonia is freed. But what does this mean for Sonia’s future?

Jonny teased whether Sonia might return to the show soon or if she’ll remain behind bars. He explained why Reiss hasn’t confessed to his crime, saying, “He’s under a huge amount of pressure, but I don’t think he’s torn about helping Sonia. He firmly believes she won’t go down for the murder because he knows he’s the one who killed Debbie.”

Jonny went on to explain that Reiss is holding onto hope that Sonia will be freed, and he hasn’t confessed because he wants a future with her and their baby. However, Reiss’s refusal to come clean about his actions could mean a longer prison sentence for Sonia, especially with Bianca being the only one who knows the truth and still in Reiss’s grip.

As Reiss continues to cover his tracks, it remains to be seen if Sonia will be freed soon or if Reiss will be forced to make a difficult decision. Will he protect his future with Sonia, or will the truth catch up with him?
