Caleb Miligan (William Ash) could soon regret crossing Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) in Emmerdale after the truth of his betrayal was finally revealed.
As viewers know, Caleb has been heavily involved in launching a new business venture, with Jai eager to profit from it by partnering up. However, while the business was taking shape, Jai’s wife Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) filed for divorce, and Caleb convinced Jai to hide his wealth from her.
It was clear to audiences that Caleb was manipulating Jai to get his hands on his money, though Jai remained oblivious, thinking they were true business partners. But on Wednesday’s episode (November 13), the truth started to dawn on Jai when things didn’t add up. Despite the business being close to opening, Jai noticed he didn’t have an office at the new premises, while Caleb had a large, impressive one.
Suspicious, Jai confronted Caleb, but Caleb offered a flimsy excuse. Jai, however, pushed further, demanding the money he had set aside be returned now that Laurel knew about their business dealings. Caleb tried to delay him, suggesting Jai wait until after the divorce, but Jai was insistent that his money be returned immediately.
Things took a turn when Jai realized more troubling details: Caleb had hired Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), despite Jai previously turning her down, which set off alarm bells. To get Jai off his back, Caleb promised to call the person who could transfer Jai’s money, reassuring him he’d have it by the end of the week. However, when Caleb left, Jai checked the phone records—and found no such call had been made.
It seems Jai has been swindled, and now the question remains: Will Jai seek revenge on Caleb? If he does, Caleb may be in for a shock, having clearly underestimated Jai this whole time.
With Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) finally out of the way, Caleb might have thought things were looking up, but he could soon find himself facing a far greater battle with Jai!
