For some time now, it’s been known that Nicky (Lewis Cope) isn’t the only child of Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) and Caleb Miligan (William Ash) in Emmerdale, but the story around Ruby’s other daughter, Stephanie, only started to unfold recently.

When Caleb visited Ruby’s terminally ill mother, Helen, in the hospital, he was shaken when she mentioned Steph. It was revealed that Steph hasn’t been in contact with her parents for a long time, with Caleb adopting a tough stance, believing if she wanted to reach out, she would.

Ruby, hoping to reconnect with Nicky, left the village, but soon the focus shifts to Steph (played by Georgia Jay), who finally comes face to face with Ruby after many years.

During an attempt to uncover more about Steph’s history with Helen, Ruby is stunned when Steph harshly criticizes her for her troubled childhood. Unable to contain her emotions, Ruby reacts by slapping Steph. Immediately remorseful, Ruby apologizes, but Steph accuses her mother of never caring about her.

Later, after speaking to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), Caleb finds Ruby distressed. He reassures her that Steph will come around, but there’s a lingering sense that Ruby is keeping something secret.

The next day, Steph reluctantly agrees to meet Ruby for coffee. However, their conversation is abruptly halted when Ruby’s father, Anthony, arrives. Shocked, Ruby storms out, declaring that she wants nothing to do with him. Caleb, seeing her distress, offers to take her home, but he first decides to confront Anthony.

After a tense exchange, Caleb is moved by Anthony’s sincerity and accepts a mysterious box from him intended for Ruby.

Back at home, Caleb tries to convince Ruby to hear what her father has to say. Will he succeed in getting her to listen?
