Every fan has their own opinion about General Hospital, and Soap Hub is no different. We watched everything—the good, the bad, and everything in between—for five days, and now we’re here to give you a helpful recap and a lighthearted analysis of the GH week that was.

General Hospital: The Critic’s POV

Even though I don’t always agree with what the interim head writers are doing (apparently I’m very difficult to please), I can’t help but be delighted by the accelerated pacing, the ongoing mixing of various characters and actors, and the closing of several obvious plot holes.

Is it really necessary for Cyrus (Jeff Kober) to lead the Pautauk Posse? No. None. It essentially disproves everything we believed to be true about Austin (Roger Howarth). Additionally, it was revealed that Austin had taken Nikolas, who was still very much alive, and given him to Mason (Nathaniel Grey) to take care of. But guess what? We finally have answers, which is more than I can say for Chris and I’s nearly three-year journey.

Additionally, there is finally, finally progress being made on other storylines, particularly the turmoil at Deception and Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) predicament, as well as Cody’s (Josh Kelly) role as the ultimate savior. I thank you for everything.

It’s time to deliver some lumps now that all praise has been given. First and foremost, halt this surrogacy narrative before it continues. Lexi Ainsworth should have been in the frame from the beginning, and since we are on the third Molly, it is time to stop bleeding.

Ava FREAKIN Jerome (Maura West) should regain some of her bite, and I’ll keep harping on the issue of her declawing until it is resolved. Additionally, I want to know why Divine Madame Wu (Lydia Look) is content to put up with Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Marshall’s (Robert Gossett) sarcasm. She didn’t just ensure the spectacular deaths of two of her fellow dons because Jason (Steve Burton) and wannabe mob boss Carly irritated her more than they did.

Further GH Musings

Leslie Charleson’s [Monica Quartermaine] voice was so wonderful to hear once more. She is cherished and will be missed.
