In Tuesday night’s must-see episode, Nicodemou’s character Leah Patterson—who is getting married to James Stewart’s Justin Morgan—is celebrating her nuptials.
Leah works with Marilyn Chamber (Emily Symons) and Irene Roberts (Lynne McGranger) on the Pier Diner set, where the tour starts.
According to Nicodemou, her favorite set memories are of her “gossip sessions” with McGranger and Symons.
“Basically, Lynne, Emily, and I just gossip about our days, our kids’ activities, and how many hours we’re working,” she says to 7NEWS.com.au.
“I believe that to be my best memory.”
The celebrity lets fans peek behind the scenes at a few of the set artifacts, such as Marilyn’s pen, the notorious hamburger phone, and a few of the actors’ secret scripts.
When Nicodemou remembers her first steps onto the diner’s original set, she smiles and says, “I was so scared.”
The Salt restaurant, dubbed “the diner’s competition” by Nicodemou, was the third location to be visited.
“Therefore, you visit Salt for better food or alcohol.”
Nicodemou divulges how she gets into character, revealing that her days typically progress more quickly than her first scenes.
“I follow a routine in the morning. I read through my scripts, have my very annoying coffee order, and come in with my scripts in hand,” she explains.
“I believe that your clothing and makeup help you adopt the character.”
Nicodemou claims that her go-to actors for line practice are McGranger and Stewart.
The fans were shown the magazine wall featuring some of the most well-known covers of Home and Away on the following stop—backstage.
So many Summer Bay memories are evident, from Leah’s prior weddings to former Home and Away actress Tammin Sursok.
Upon examining a few of her wedding album covers, Nicodemou states that her character’s 2002 marriage to Ryan Kwanten’s Vinny Patterson was her favorite wedding scene.
“I believe because it was Leah’s first wedding,” she adds.
According to Nicodemou, filming a normal Home and Away wedding takes “very long.”
“It lasts for two weeks; you’re exhausted and it’s hot, so nobody really wants to be invited.”
Regarding the impending nuptials, though, Nicodemou’s expression brightens as she exclaims, “Oooh, it’s so good!
“It seems like a real wedding. In Home and Away, a lot of horrible things happen at weddings, but this one is about characters.
She describes her on-screen son, Matthew Little, as “full of love, the community gets together and there are some old faces, VJ comes back.”
“Justin does a pretty good job organizing the whole thing as well.”
The actress gives fans a tour of the dressing room that she and McGranger share, complete with a couch, exercise equipment, and extra clothing.
Nicodemou quickly saw a note that McGranger had left for her; according to the actress, this is something her friend does frequently.
“Hello Ada, are you aware of the red phone chord and charger? xxx” McGranger scribbled in a notebook.
One of the most valuable items in Nicodemou’s dressing room, the folder containing her most recent scripts, was also displayed to the public.
After that, the actress went to the green room and took her most recent screenplay out of her pigeonhole.
Moving on to hair and cosmetics, Nicodemou revealed that artists utilize a make-up bag for each character.
