Many of the couples on Coronation Street appear to be getting better and better at their relationships lately, but for one pair, everything may soon come tumbling down.
Bernie Winter may be about to break Dev Alahan’s heart on Coronation Street as she keeps a significant secret from him that results in a cheating accusation.
When Dev and Bernie first started dating, they were an unusual couple, but they have since found success in their own special manner.
Bernie has been accepted into Dev’s home and into his family despite her eccentricities, leaving her criminal background in the past.
Official teasers indicate that the couple may soon experience a hard patch in their romance as she accuses her of infidelity.
Paul Foreman, played by Peter Ash, will visit Shelly Rossington’s (Natalie Amber) apartment in subsequent scenes.
He vents his frustrations to her about the wheelchair, the stairlift, and Billy Foreman’s (Daniel Brocklebank) ongoing involvement.
Shelly, who is clearly irritated, tells him he should be thankful for Billy’s presence as well as the support of his other family members.
After experiencing Shelly’s heat, Paul returns home and offers to Billy that they go out for the day so they may enjoy themselves while they can.
Billy accepts his invitation, and the two of them spend the afternoon at the lake. When Paul recommends they go skinny dipping, Billy finds it difficult to say no.
Paul offers to Billy that they finally plan their wedding and suggest that they have it at the cafe in order to take advantage of the remaining time he is still able to move.
In a different scene, when Paul and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) pay a visit to Shelly, they discover her surrounded by packages and boxes, each of which is holding a laptop.
Shelly admits that she has been buying laptops on her former employer’s credit card and reselling them to pay for her caregivers after being discovered.
Later, Paul gives one of Shelly’s stolen laptops to Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) as a birthday gift.
Billy questions Paul about how he was able to get it, and Paul claims he acquired it on the cheap from a buddy.
When Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) receives a message from Big Garth on Bernie’s phone and accuses Shelly of having an affair, Bernie, unable to resist a fraud, becomes entangled with her.
Bernie reassures him that he is completely mistaken, but will she divulge the real details of the laptop scam?
If Dev learns that Bernie has engaged in yet another illegal activity, would he continue to live with her?
