Next week in EastEnders, Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) takes a bold step and confesses his feelings to Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace).
Having lived together for some time to provide stability for the twins and Tommy (Sonny Kendall), Alfie and Kat have naturally grown closer. Alfie has also been a supportive presence for Kat amid the troubling storyline involving Tommy’s violent behavior. After discovering that Tommy had been abusing his mother, Alfie confronted him in an effort to change his ways, but the situation only escalated.
One night, Tommy’s anger boils over, leading him to wreck the flat and injure Freddie (Bobby Brazier). This prompts a concerned Jean (Gillian Wright) to call social services, who subsequently place Tommy with foster carer Zack Hudson (James Farrar) while the issues are resolved.
As Kat prepares for a tense meeting with social services, she’s also ignoring Jean and Stacey (Lacey Turner) after they refused to take Tommy in. Alfie steps in to facilitate a discussion between Kat, Stacey, and Jean at the pub, but when Kat arrives, she is furious to find she’s been tricked.
Fortunately, Alfie delivers a heartfelt speech that helps ease the tension among Kat, Stacey, and Jean. Later, Freddie senses the chemistry between Alfie and Kat and pulls Alfie aside to talk, encouraging him to act on his lingering feelings for Kat.
During the social services meeting, Alfie expresses their desire to have Tommy back in time for Christmas. Although the session is challenging, he manages to connect with Tommy, leading to a more hopeful conclusion.
Back at their flat, Kat surprises Alfie with a kiss as a gesture of gratitude. However, amidst this joyful moment, both characters are left feeling confused about their feelings.
Seeking clarity, Kat goes to Stacey for advice about Alfie, while Alfie turns to Freddie and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) for guidance. What decisions will they ultimately make?
