As one celebrity has chosen to leave her part in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street, viewers may expect to see a new actress join Weatherfield in upcoming scenes.

Due to actress Macy Alabi’s departure from Coronation Street, the show’s producers have recast the role of Ruby Dobbs.

Since her birth in 2012, the young actress has played Tyrone Dobbs’ (Alan Halsall) daughter, making her a part of the ITV soap opera for 11 years.

Although Macy and Grace Hanrahan initially shared the part of Ruby for six months when they were infants, Macy has been the only actor for more than ten years.

A source explained to The Sun why Macy made the decision to depart, saying, “Macy’s starting senior school soon so wants to focus on her studies.”

Some of Macy’s final scenes were when she said her stepmother Fiz Brown (Jennie McAlpine) farewell before she departed Weatherfield for a position in Norwich.

In response to news of the actress’ departure, Express.co.uk contacted ITV.

The young actress Billie Naylor will take over from Macy in subsequent scenes as she is embroiled in a contentious plot with her sister Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan).

The two sisters are competing for the lead part in Glenda Shuttleworth’s (Jodie Prenger) Little Big Shotz summer extravaganza, according to official ITV soap opera spoilers.

Hope boldly practises the solo at home in front of her sister as she makes it apparent she expects to get the part she desires.

However, when Glenda announces at the community centre that Ruby has been cast in the lead role, things take an unexpected turn.

Hope is shocked to find that she and two other kids would be Ruby’s backing dancers rather than taking the spotlight.

As a sibling rivalry starts, Ruby is visibly delighted while her sister is dissatisfied.

Will John Stape’s (Graeme Hawley) daughter Hope exact revenge on Ruby for landing the role she wanted?

Will Ruby, who is the child of soap opera baddie Kirsty Soames (Natalie Gumede), follow in her mother’s footsteps and take the fight to the enemy?

As Hope became fixated on finding out more about her father, fans have witnessed her develop a bitter side over the years.

The head of Coronation Street, Iain MacLeod, stated Hope won’t follow the same difficult path that viewers are accustomed to seeing on Loose Women earlier this year.

“We thought actually we’ve done some very dark and twisted things with that character, and okay, that will still be part of her, but for the next twelve months we’re going to do normal pre-teen stuff,” the speaker stated.

Sam and I will be developing a friendship that will, at times, resemble a very innocent pre-teen romance, and they will be attempting to navigate those waters.

“It will always have a Hope twist on it because she’s maybe wired a little bit differently than most kids her age… but we’ll see a more grounded, down-to-earth side of her.”
