Viewers of Coronation Street have witnessed Jenny Connor battle to maintain the renowned bar after feeling the effects of the cost of living issue.
As Jenny Connor (played by Sally Ann Matthews) was compelled to leave the Rovers Return, Coronation Street spoilers have revealed who will be taking over.
Fans of the ITV soap opera have watched the landlady suffer the most from the cost of living problem in recent weeks as she admitted the pub was close to closing.
Following the passing of her husband Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley), Jenny ran Weatherfield’s local for two years on her own. She departs from the establishment next week.
The landlady talks about the arrangement she has made with murderer Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) as she makes her way to the Rovers to tell Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan).
Jenny acknowledges that she is no longer the owner and clarifies that she signed the paperwork transferring ownership to Henry and the Newtons’ brewery.
Jenny and Daisy are uncertain of what will happen to them as staff and lodgers when the takeover gets started, even though the bar will be saved.
As Henry (George Banks) begins working on the Rovers, he brings some unsettling news that once more threatens the pub’s destiny.
He acknowledges that his father, Phillip (Bruce McGregor), wants to sell the brewery, which would mean finding new owners for the bar.
Henry confesses he is attempting to prevent his father from selling the Rovers so they can retain them for themselves.
The bar is now owned by Henry and the Newtons, but it appears that the Waterfords may take it soon.
Will The Rovers be permanently preserved, or will Coronation Street fans have to bid the venerable bar farewell?
After a five-year hiatus from the soap, Henry returned to the cobbles earlier this month.
The businessman was last seen by viewers in 2018, when he was held hostage by two thugs in the trunk of a car.
Although many people were unaware of Henry’s existence, it appears that he has changed since his final appearance in the soap opera due to his cunning methods.
Actor George explained to the audience how his character has evolved after his departure.
“I think the thing now is that he knows deep down that he’s a good person and he doesn’t want to be the person he was,” he said to Digital Spy.
He truly wants to assist in any way he can. It’s excellent for him to be able to atone for his mistakes and prove to others that he is a decent and good person. He’s also, you know, a little bit older now. He has a little bit more accountability.
