QUESTION OF SPORT faced a backlash from viewers on Friday night after Paddy McGuinness announced a change to the new BBC series.

On Friday evening, Paddy McGuinness returned with a brand-new Question of Sport episode for the BBC. Ugo Monye and Sam Quek, the regular team captains, were both present and contested each round. Conor Benn, an accomplished boxer, Andros Townsend of Everton, Zoe Aldcroft of rugby, and Fran Halsall of swimming joined them as this week’s guests. “Welcome to a Question of Sport,” Paddy said to start off the new show. It’s time to get started with a new series, everyone. The three of us made it through preseason, though, I have to be honest, I’d struggle with the fitness test. Later, the BBC host updated the audience on a change to the program.

He said, “We have a fresh round for you now where each of our visitors will have the opportunity to get themselves on the podium.
“Which color medal will they pursue, though? They will have the option of answering a one-point bronze question about their own sport, a two-point silver question about another sport we will reveal to them, or a three-point gold question about an unidentified sport.”
However, some viewers weren’t pleased with the new season, and many of them expressed their opinions on social media.
Some viewers didn’t like the new game that was added to the program.

Chris tweeted, “Oh Jesus, this shouting out round is horrific.”

“#QuestionofSport or Blankety Blank,” wrote @teasiemc.

Adam Plows questioned, “What happened to the lovely #QuestionofSport?”

Jaydees, a user, asked with the BBC to bring back Sue Barker, the original host.

It was said: “Sport-related questions are not the same. Sue, bring back. Take away Paddy McGuinness. #SportsQuestion #BBC” (sic)

“Before, #QuestionofSport was helpful. It is currently a bag of s**t “@Resurge88 user added

“Format is awful trying to replicate sky’s Flintoff quiz,” John Hughes remarked. (sic)

Some fans loved Friday’s episode despite the criticism, though.

Nikki Talbot tweeted: “I’ll give it a go as you’re on, but god knows why BBC changed people.” Some fans were overjoyed to see Andros on the panel. (sic)

Great stuff, definitely going to be watching, Matt Lea continued. (sic)

In September of last year, Paddy took over as the show’s host, and Sam and Ugo succeeded Phil Tufnell and Matt Dawson.

Fans who watch the program at home have given it a variety of ratings each week.

While some people are ecstatic about the change in hosts, others have pleaded with the BBC to bring back the previous team.
