After a rocky season last year, Channel Seven’s Home and Away is making a victorious return in the TV ratings.

The popular soap opera ranked among the top 10 most watched programs overnight on Monday after attracting an impressive 507,000 viewers in the major metro areas.

Australian Idol and Australia Survivor, two of Married at First Sight’s reality television competitors, continue to lose to the show.

Overnight, 841,000 people watched the Channel Nine dating program in the five major cities.

Australian Idol did not even come close to matching MAFS’ ratings over on Seven.

With only 410,000 viewers in the metro ratings, the singing competition is losing supporters.

Quiz show is also on Seven. The Chase Australia attracted 462,000 metro viewers overnight, building on its outstanding success in 2022.

Australian Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains on Channel 10 attracted 449,000 viewers in the big cities.

The episode of Home and Away that aired on Monday night was seen by 1.031 million people nationwide, according to the show’s aggregate statistics, which combine the main channel ratings for Seven with its digital catch-up and BVOD data.

It follows the 2023 season, which had the lowest metro audience for a season premiere to date with 519,000 viewers in the five capital cities.

The numbers were lower than the premiere from the previous year, which drew 537,000 metro viewers.

The 2021 season opened to more than 600,000 metro viewers, compared to just 548,000 viewers across the major cities for the 2020 season.
