For over two decades, she has portrayed Tracy Barlow in the ITV soap opera.
Kate Ford, a star of Coronation Street, has played the feisty Tracy Barlow for twenty years. She has become enmeshed in a number of wild plots over the years, and her most recent is about to turn heads once more.
Since taking on the controversial role of Tracy in 2002, Kate has killed her former boyfriend Charlie Stubbs in cold blood by striking him on the head with a heavy ornament. Tracy is a force to be reckoned with. In addition, she gave Roy Cropper, the owner of the cafe, a drug to make him think that after a one-night fling, they had slept together and Steve McDonald had become pregnant.
Tracy and Steve eventually tied the knot twice, but new footage suggests that their marriage may be about to face its greatest challenge to date. Tracey has started a passionate relationship with Tommy Orpington, her husband’s football hero, after hiring him to decorate the Barlow residence.
Away from the ITV soap opera, the MEN notes that Kate has gone through her own struggles, such as the dissolution of her marriage to TV producer Jon Connerty. The pair got married in 2007 and got divorced in 2015. They had a son named Otis together.
Kate was married to Jon after dating BAFTA-nominated actor Bart Ruspoli, who played Marco Bianco in EastEnders. Marco Bianco was an interior designer who redecorated the apartment above The Queen Vic for Peggy Mitchell, with whom Kate is still close friends. Similar to her ex-boyfriend, Kate made appearances on the rival BBC soap opera, appearing in one episode each of Doctors and EastEnders before landing the role of Tracy Barlow. At the age of 19, she also experienced a brief taste of stardom as the lead actress in The Beatles’ music video for the song “Free as a Bird.”

The soap opera star, who has endometriosis, has also been battling illness behind the scenes. Last year, she shared a selfie with her Instagram followers, revealing more about the disorder. She wrote, “This was taken a few weeks ago while I was filming #itvcorrie, when I was having a lot of trouble with my endrometriosis.” Fortunately, I received a ton of support. I’m just sending hugs to everyone going through something similar.”
During the 20202 coronavirus lockdown, Kate had previously disclosed her endometriosis on social media, writing: “As someone with grade four endometriosis, I realise how much I rely on my massage therapy to help with this.” I haven’t been able to see my therapist in three months because of covid. I’ll never take this therapy for granted again because my body hurts.”
