CORONATION STREET fans have shared their theories as to why Spider Nugent really made his return to Weatherfield.
Fans of the ITV soap opera Coronation Street have recently witnessed Toyah Battersby (played by Georgia Taylor) and her previous flame Spider (Martin Hancock) become closer as a result of the activist’s return to the show. After her husband Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo) died in a car accident she instigated, poor Toyah wanted someone to grieve on her shoulder. Toyah, though, was left feeling bad about sleeping with Spider as she awaited her trial. Toyah sought the counsel of Abi Webster (Sally Carman) of all people when she was unsure of what to do.
Toyah was quickly reassured by Abi, who said her night with Spider was an error.
Toyah acknowledged, “I’m really lonely. “Nobody understands.”You have Leanne, Simon, and your pals, they will say. Get a dog, go on a trip, and go for a stroll. You have the rest of your life ahead of you.”
Abi responded, “Feels like a death sentence,” to Toyah’s statement, “I can’t say it out loud, it’s ungrateful.”
“Who to?” Before Toyah continued, Abi questioned: “I don’t know? The cosmos?
“I ought to have been standing on that slab. Why did I avoid the threat when he did not?
Grief 101, Abi, who had lost her son Seb (Harry Visinoni), advised her. There is no sense, so stop attempting to find it.
Abi continued as she tapped an elastic bracelet on her wrist, “Those days when those ideas come swarming in I find myself wallowing in them. It jolts me back to reality.
Abi then asked Spider, “Be honest, would you have dumped Imran for this Spider if he was still here?”
“Toyah maintained, “Never in a million years,” and Abi comforted her, “Well, there you go then. You haven’t destroyed Imran’s memory because it was meaningless.” Fans have concocted explanations for why Spider truly did return to the cobbles in the wake of his appearance there.
Some people suspect Spider is not his true name, while others say the protester is working with the police to reveal Toyah.
Verysensiblelady, a Reddit member, asked Corrie viewers what they thought about Spider.
“Go on then, what do we think the deal is with Spider,” she wrote.
Magnificentjunicorn responded, “Spider is a spy…duh,” and Verysensiblelady added, “Oh god it’s obvious when you say it like that.”
A second Reddit member said, “I guess Spider isn’t his true name.”
Themilleboy said, “Huge if true,” and Very Sensible Lady added, “Whaaaaaat??? Mind. Blown.”
