In Coronation Street, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) has made the decision to make an effort to get to know Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney).

In a current ITV soap opera, the newcomer admitted that she is Tyrone’s biological mother. Tyrone was understandably shocked because he believed his mother had passed some years before and because Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) had known Cassie was alive but had kept it a secret from him.

The primary problem with Cassie is that she used drugs and is now clean. While beginning a new life was never going to be simple, she has spent the last several weeks in treatment and is now confident that she has changed for the better.

In the episode that aired on Monday, August 21, Cassie’s past self was on display as she met with Dean, a drug dealer.

Dean is someone we’ve known for a while. He was a part of the plot that saw Abi (Sally Carman) go into a tailspin after sleeping with Imran (Charlie De Melo), and he even abandoned her on the side of the road after she gave birth.

In a nutshell, Dean is a nasty man, therefore it is not surprising that when confronting Cassie about the money she owed him, he chose to use violence.

Michael (Ryan Russell), who was adamant Cassie needed to go to A&E, saw the incident.

Tyrone was at home wondering where Cassie had gone while the situation in the hospital deteriorated.

He went to the precinct flat to see whether she was there, but Roy (David Neilson) and Evelyn said they hadn’t seen her.

Cassie eventually made it back home, her arm bandaged. Tyrone became concerned right after, but Cassie lied and claimed that she hurt it while rushing for a bus.

Tyrone, who was blissfully oblivious that Cassie hadn’t quite given up her drug-filled existence, proceeded to offer her some pills because he had apparently come to believe her.

Although she is motivated to try her hardest to maintain her sobriety, she is ultimately an addict, said Claire Sweeney.

Addicts occasionally stray from the path. She would exert every effort but the disease prevents her from doing so. It won’t be easy for any of them, and she can’t always manage it.
