Coronation Street fans are growing concerned for DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) after some recent developments have raised suspicions about her role in Joel Deering’s murder.
Lisa, who had been investigating Joel’s death, was left hiding bruises after claiming to have been attacked the night Joel was killed. In a recent scene, her daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) discovered the injuries but Lisa explained they were from a body combat class.
Swain, who was suspended from the force for sending a threatening message to Joel shortly before his death, found herself in even deeper trouble when she was arrested on November 11. A can of CS spray was found near the weapon believed to have killed Joel, leading to her arrest by Kit Green (Jacob Roberts). Lisa explained she was hurt while intervening in a street assault and was hit by a car, but Kit continued to press her, keeping her in custody overnight, leaving Betsy at risk.
Viewers have been trying to piece together the mystery of Joel’s death, with many speculating that while Lisa might not be the murderer, Kit could be involved in causing her injuries. Some fans believe Kit is targeting Lisa for personal reasons. One fan took to X, saying: “I still think Kit had something to do with setting up Lisa.”

Other fans also questioned Kit’s behavior, noting that while he didn’t kill Joel, he seemed to be overly hostile toward Lisa and Dee Dee, suggesting there’s more to his actions than meets the eye.
