Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) has had a challenging year in Coronation Street, but her luck might finally be about to change.
At the start of the year, the troubled teenager was groomed by Joel Deering (Calum Lill), who later assaulted her and left her for dead, causing her immense fear and trauma.
Lauren later found out she was pregnant with Joel’s child. Although Joel initially offered her a place to stay and a plan to help her escape the country, his motives soon turned sinister. Knowing that the baby was evidence of his crime, Joel devised a horrific plan to eliminate it by giving Lauren pills meant to induce an early labor.
Thankfully, Lauren’s baby survived, but it’s been a difficult and tense journey for her as a new mother.
Recently, Lauren received hopeful news that baby Frankie would soon be discharged from the hospital. However, her optimism was dampened when Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) withdrew her offer for them to stay with her.
Luckily, Max Turner (Paddy Bever) is set to step up and provide some much-needed support for Lauren. After rekindling their relationship and admitting their feelings, Max and Lauren announced their romance to the family. Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) even promised to speak to David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) about allowing Lauren and Frankie to stay with them.
In upcoming episodes, David and Max visit Lauren to tell her that once they’re settled out of foster care, she and Frankie will be welcome to live with them.
