Stars from EastEnders and Mr. Bates Vs the Post Office are set to join a thrilling new BBC drama series.
The popular show Shetland will return next month for its ninth season, featuring TV actors Ian Hart and Jimmy Yuill in key roles. Ian Hart will portray Euan Rossi in this Scottish detective series, which is just weeks away from airing.
Fans may recognize him as Bob Rutherford from Mr. Bates Vs the Post Office, a poignant tale about one of the greatest miscarriages of justice, recently depicted in a four-part ITV drama earlier this year.
EastEnders viewers will also be happy to see Jimmy Yuill, who played Victor Brown in the soap back in 2006, appear in this crime drama.
The long-running series delves into the darker aspects of the Shetland Islands, uncovering secrets and lies from the past.
In the upcoming season, DI Ruth Calder and Tosh, played by Ashley Jensen and Alison O’Donnell, team up once again to tackle a challenging double missing persons case, which “blurs the lines between the personal and the professional.”
Vincent Regan, known for his role in One Piece, will also reprise his character, John Harris. He expressed his excitement, stating, “I’m thrilled to be joining the cast of Shetland, which is such a beloved BBC drama.
My character and his family are at the heart of this dark and twisting storyline, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds.”
The new six-part series is based on novels by crime writer Ann Cleeves and is penned by Paul Logue and Denise Paul. Viewers are eagerly anticipating the return of this gripping crime drama.
