EastEnders viewers were left questioning the identity of mysterious “Holly” after a scene with David Wicks during a recent episode of the BBC One soap.
There was also a mention of a character linked to David and his daughter Bianca Jackson called Joe, who is actually a former character on the show.
David was trying to support Bianca as she struggled, with her friend Kat Slater encouraging him to help her seek assistance. While David arranged a deal with Reiss Colwell to temporarily leave Walford, Bianca’s attempts to prove that he killed his wife, Debbie, only pushed her further away.
After being absent for some time, Bianca confronted him for not being there during her recent hardships. David insisted he was present now and wanted to assist her, expressing concern for her mental health, especially after Freddie Slater suggested she might have ADHD.
As David spoke to Bianca, he mentioned his son, Joe Wicks, who is also her sibling. However, another name came up in the episode that left fans puzzled, leading them to speculate about the character’s true identity.
Holly is a mysterious character connected to David, and he appears to be avoiding her. He ignored a call from her on his phone on Monday (October 7), prompting viewers to question her identity.
One viewer asked, “WHO is Holly?” while another echoed the same question: “WHO IS HOLLY?” Some fans believe they might have an idea, with one suggesting, “Is she a new character?”
Another theory suggested it’s either his new partner or maybe someone linked to Joe. A fan said: “Probably a ex/current girlfriend or wife, that or she’s the wife of Joe Wicks (David’s son/Bianca’s brother) as he’s been mentioned.”
As mentioned above, Joe Wicks is the son of David and brother of Bianca. He used to be on the show years ago, and was played by actor Paul Nicholls.
David spoke of Joe not being able to let things go in the latest episode, leading to Bianca calling him out. She screamed: “Why are you talking about Joe? Do you think I’m schizophrenic?”
Bianca was alluding to a significant storyline involving her former sibling, Joe, who struggled with his mental health following the death of his sister, Karen. After displaying erratic behavior, he was diagnosed with a mental health condition and tragically attempted to take his own life.
Joe left Walford in 1997, just a year after his debut, moving away with his mother, Lorraine. He was mentioned by David in 2012 when he returned to say goodbye to his dying mother, Pat Butcher.
There was mention of Joe having a girlfriend with two children while it was later revealed David had lost contact with his son. Years on it’s not clear whether he and Joe are back on talking terms. Given the mention of him, fans can’t help but wonder if a return is on the cards.
