EastEnders delivered a shocking twist for The Six storyline on Halloween night, with Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) confessing to Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder, despite being innocent.
In the Halloween episode (October 31), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) reluctantly allowed her abusive ex-husband Nish back into her home. He managed to manipulate his way back into her life after discovering from Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), who was tricked, that Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) was supposedly responsible for Keanu’s death.
Nish also learned it was Denise Fox (Diane Parish) who had struck him with a bottle, and he used this to pressure Suki into a reunion. However, as they shared a Halloween meal, Suki found herself overwhelmed and fled to The Minute Mart. There, she encountered Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), who warned her against being with Nish. Suki assured her she could handle it, then returned home to Nish.
Once home, Nish turned aggressive and attempted to assault Suki. Stacey burst in just in time to intervene, soon joined by Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) and Avani (Aaliyah James), who were shaken by the scene. Avani confronted Nish, boldly declaring that Suki no longer loved him.
As Nish grew emotional, he left the house, but not before summoning The Six — Suki, Stacey, Sharon, Linda, Kathy, and Denise — to meet him at The Queen Vic. There, Nish demanded to hear all the details of Keanu’s murder, as police sirens approached in the distance.
In front of DCI Arthurs (Ian Burfield), Nish claimed his associates had stabbed Keanu with a meat thermometer, and said he’d hidden the weapon at Dean Wicks’ (Matt Di Angelo) flat. Suki witnessed Nish’s confession, in which he claimed that, knowing he was dying, he wanted to “do the right thing.” She quickly messaged The Six, declaring that their ordeal was over.
Led away by police, Nish begged Suki not to marry Eve Unwin (Heather Peace). As the fireworks display lit up the sky in the colors of The Six, Nish and Suki watched the show outside The Queen Vic.
However, some fans believe The Six aren’t truly safe yet, pointing out that Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) still knows the truth about her brother’s death.
One viewer on X (formerly Twitter) commented, “Why’s everyone saying the six storyline is over? It’s far from it. Bernie’s return is still on the horizon, and the rest of the Square doesn’t know the truth yet! #EastEnders.”
Another added, “Nish took the blame, but with Bernie coming back, this is far from over. Can’t wait to see what happens next!”
Others echoed the sentiment, with one writing, “It feels like a wrap-up for The Six, but there’s still Bernie to deal with #EastEnders,” while another observed, “Nish might be out, but what about Bernie? She’s definitely returning soon #EastEnders.”
Another viewer speculated, “People saying it’s done, but we still have Bernie to worry about. She’ll be back in a week or two, and she’s not finished with The Six yet #EastEnders.”
