EastEnders fans are concerned that a tragedy could hit the Slater family, hinting at a potential character exit in the BBC soap.
Kat Slater has endured several attacks from her teenage son, Tommy Moon, as the show explores an abuse storyline. Tommy’s aggressive behavior has escalated, targeting not only Kat but also his father, Alfie, and his younger siblings through violent outbursts.
Kat has borne the brunt of Tommy’s violent outbursts, and in a recent episode, his cousin Freddie Slater was also injured. As word of Tommy’s actions spread on Wednesday, hints of an impending exit surfaced.
Jean Slater, Kat’s aunt, walked in on Tommy shouting at his younger brothers, leaving them visibly shaken. She was horrified to discover bruises on the boys, and Alfie was equally alarmed by how far Tommy’s behavior had escalated.
Although Kat tried to dismiss the situation as just a phase, it was clear she was deeply unsettled and anxious about being alone with her son. By the episode’s end, someone made a significant decision regarding Tommy’s future.
Jean was seen calling social services, intending to report the abuse. Could this set Tommy on a path toward serious consequences—and possibly mark his exit from the soap?
With speculation swirling about a possible character exit, fans fear Tommy’s behavior could escalate to a tragic extreme, resulting in a death. Given the harm he has already caused Kat, some viewers believe the storyline might take a dark turn, with Tommy accidentally killing his own mother.
There are hints of an impending death, as cast members were recently spotted filming a funeral scene. While the clues seem to point toward Linda Carter or another member of the Carter family, some fans have a different theory.
One viewer suggested that the funeral could, in fact, be for Kat. Sharing their thoughts on social media, they wrote: “Anyone else thinking it’s Kat that dies and that’s whose funeral it will be? I think Tommy kills her, just a thought.”
It seems unlikely that the upcoming funeral is for Kat, as set photos show members of the Carter family—excluding Linda—gathered at the graveside. Even Linda’s children, Nancy and Lee, who have not yet returned to the show, were spotted mourning at the service.
While this suggests the funeral isn’t for Linda either, Kat may still be in grave danger. With Tommy’s violent behavior worsening, could things spiral further, putting her life at serious risk?
