EastEnders‘ Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) has always had a complex relationship with the law, but next week he finds himself being pulled deeper into a criminal underworld — a move that could end with him behind bars.
Currently, Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) is blackmailing the detective into doing his dirty work at the Arches after acquiring footage of Jack punching him.
This is all part of Penny Branning’s (Kitty Castledine) revenge scheme against her father, angry that he allowed her to take the blame for Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) over the incident at Peggy’s.
In scenes airing next week, Harry ramps up the pressure, threatening Jack with prison time unless he starts cooperating. When Harry assigns Jack a task, Jack initially refuses, but Harry warns him that failing to collect a stolen car will result in the end of his career — with the incriminating video as evidence.

Reluctantly, Jack realises he must go through with the job, but faces a dilemma as it conflicts with his daughter Amy Mitchell’s (Ellie Dadd) physio appointment. He decides to prioritise Amy but manages to make it back just in time to collect the car. However, as he heads home, he’s distracted by a text from Harry, causing him to crash into the back of Reiss Colwell’s (Jonny Freeman) car and damage the stolen vehicle.
Unbeknownst to Jack, Harry has been lurking nearby, snapping photos of him collecting the illegal car…
