EastEnders fans have wanted nothing more than for Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) to get his comeuppance, and it seems as though they will at last get their wish.
The BBC One soap has teased what’s to come in 2022, confirming that Gray’s storyline will reach a thunderous conclusion.
But not before he ‘escalates the manipulation’ with new wife Chelsea Fox once more (Zaraah Abrahams).
‘Chelsea’s traumatic Christmas is far from done, with baby Jordan in hospital and her new husband’s watchful eye more present than ever,’ an EastEnders spokeswoman added.
‘Gray ups the ante with his manipulation, taking advantage of Chelsea’s frail state, but Whitney and Kheerat remain committed to catching Gray and bringing Chantelle’s killer to justice once and for all; it’s only a matter of time before Gray is brought to justice.’
Or will he himself wind up dead? That remains to be seen.
In August, EastEnders’ Senior Executive Producer Kate Oates revealed the end of the Gray plot.
‘Gray’s story was always intended to be a longer arc after the death of Chantelle,’ she told Metro.co.uk at the time.
‘But even though some of his actions have been extreme, they have always been grounded in the roots of Gray’s character.Â
