Eve Unwin (played by Heather Peace) bid farewell to Walford on Wednesday (October 16) and returned to her Yorkshire roots without her partner Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), leaving fans in suspense about her return.

Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) orchestrated a visit from his and Suki’s distant grandson Tye, marking his first appearance. The event brought the Panesars together in joy, welcoming their late son’s child.

On Tuesday (October 15), Nish revealed that he planned to use Tye to rebuild his relationship with Suki. However, his anger boiled over when he overheard Suki joking with Eve that Tye wouldn’t even remember his grandfather because of his approaching death.

Furious, Nish began plotting revenge and made a cryptic phone call, instructing an attack on an unknown target.

During her latest visit to the Square, Eve received an upsetting call from her estranged father, informing her that her mother had been mugged and was hospitalized, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Eve quickly arranged for her and Suki to travel to Yorkshire to visit her mother. However, when she shared the news with her family, Nish warned that leaving would mean missing her only opportunity to meet her young grandson.

Just as Suki and Eve were preparing to leave, Nish showed up with Tye in tow, bringing joy to Suki. She couldn’t help but comment on how much Tye resembled her late son, Jagvir (Amar Adatia).

Caught between spending time with her grandson and supporting Eve, Suki suggested it wasn’t the right time to meet Eve’s family.

Understanding the situation, Eve decided to give Suki space to bond with Tye and made the trip to Yorkshire on her own.

Before catching her train, Eve stopped by the café for a heart-to-heart with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), who reassured her that going solo was the right move.

However, fans were frustrated that Eve’s long-awaited reunion with her father, after nearly 20 years, took place off-screen.

One viewer vented on X, writing, “I’m so annoyed that Eve’s reunion with her parents after 20 years was off-screen. I’ve been waiting for that moment for so long!”

Another went ballistic, sniping: “The fact that they’ve made Eve see her parents for the first time in 20 years offscreen is c***. I’d really want to see that especially since Erica’s death.”

Another frustrated viewer vented, “It feels so wrong that this is happening off-screen, rushed, and sidelined. Sure, it’ll be nice if we get future scenes with Eve and her parents, but we’re missing the most crucial part. Why isn’t this being shown?”

Meanwhile, another fan expressed mixed emotions: “I have mixed feelings about today’s episode. Eve reuniting with her parents after 20 years happening off-screen is such a missed opportunity by the writers, but that scene with ‘our grandson’ was so precious and heartwarming.”
