In EastEnders, Avani and Ravi play a father-daughter duo, but in reality, their age difference makes that relationship unlikely.
Actors Aaron Thiara and Aaliyah James are actually quite close in age—just seven years apart, to be precise.

But that’s the charm of Soap land. Aaliyah portrays a schoolgirl, yet in reality, she was born in June 2000, while Aaron Thiara, who plays Ravi, was born in May 1993.
Fans on social media were stunned when they discovered the age difference, noting that the actors look their respective ages on screen.
“Modern-day Kathy and Ian,” joked one fan on X. Another added, “I can’t believe he’s younger than me,” while someone else remarked, “Wait, she’s supposed to be 15??!”
One fan noted, “Just found out that the actors for Ravi and Avani are only seven years apart.” Underneath the original tweet, another exclaimed, “SHE’S TWENTY-FOUR??” and a fifth simply reacted with, “WHAT!!!”
The age gap is especially intriguing given their current storyline, which involves Avani being taken advantage of by an older man.
Avani is dating an older man
This week, Nugget caught Avani texting Mason, an older man she’s been seeing since they met before the club crush carnival party. Desperate for him to keep it a secret, she pleaded with him. Later, when Ravi confiscated her phone, he turned to Priya for help in unlocking it.
Priya reassured him that there was nothing to worry about, revealing that Avani had confided in her about dating Barney. Ravi decided to leave Avani’s messages alone and returned her phone.
When Avani met up with Mason, she told him that she wasn’t ready to sleep with him. Although she had been contemplating it, she felt pressured by the older man. He reacted by pushing her away, leaving her with a split lip.
As Ravi and Priya shared a tense moment, he spotted Avani with her bloodied mouth. Avani tried to lie her way out of trouble, but Ravi was convinced that Barney was responsible for her injuries. Furious, he stormed off to confront Barney.
The confrontation escalated when Ravi hung Barney over a train bridge by his ankles and threatened to drop him. Just in time, Avani intervened and revealed the truth, saving Barney from harm.
However, Teddy was furious about the whole situation and conspired with Harry to set fire to the call center.
