Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve figured out who broke Tom King’s car window.
The notorious troublemaker, played by James Chase, was recently arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into his domestic abuse against Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper). However, he was released shortly after, and the police inquiry continues.
Fans are speculating that Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler), the wife of Tom’s uncle Jimmy King (Nick Miles), is devising a plan to get back at Tom in a new revenge scheme.
This speculation follows Nicola’s visit to the police station with her stepson, Carl Holiday (Charlie Munro Joyce), where she accused him of lying about a missing tablet that contains vital evidence of Belle’s abuse at Tom’s hands.
Carl admitted that Tom had intimidated him regarding the tablet before destroying it.
Earlier this week, DS Foy (Robert Cavanah) questioned Tom about his earlier statements. He revealed evidence showing that Tom had bought several cameras to spy on Belle at her home, which emphasized his controlling behavior.
DS Foy, who believes Belle’s account of events, confirmed that despite undergoing mental health treatment, Belle was mentally stable when she reported Tom for domestic abuse.
A potential breakthrough occurred when Foy mentioned that investigators had found Tom’s shattered tablet, which would be carefully examined by an IT team to recover any data.
In a dramatic turn on Emmerdale, Tom received a frosty welcome from a skeptical Nicola, who is convinced he is responsible for Belle’s suffering. The situation escalated when Tom’s car was vandalized, and suspicions fell on young Carl as the culprit.
On social media, fans quickly shared their theories, with one stating in an Emmerdale group: “Jimmy, your son is the one who smashed the car window.”
Another fan agreed, saying, “There’s no doubt about it. Carl was the one who threw the brick at Tom’s car.” Others supported the idea of juvenile justice, with one commenter noting, “Good for him if it is. I wouldn’t want my kids around Tom.”
However, some armchair detectives suggested that Tom might have staged the incident to garner sympathy, igniting a debate online. One fan speculated, “It’s something Tom would do—anything to get the sympathy vote.” Another chimed in, “I thought Tom had done it to himself.”
Tension is thick in the village as viewers eagerly await the reveal of the “real” culprit. The stakes are rising for Tom, who faces even more trouble next week when Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) discovers him bloodied. Will Laurel uncover the truth, or is Tom plotting yet another disturbing scheme?
