Next week on Emmerdale, Chris Bisson’s character Jai Sharma snaps at his son Archie Breckle (Kai Assi) as he struggles to come to terms with the death of his adored father Rishi (Bhasker Patel).

Jai was the one to uncover Rishi’s death earlier this week after it took a turn on the day of Jai’s wedding to Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy).

The businessman finds it difficult to deal with Rishi’s untimely death alone, but the fact that they had a falling out before Rishi’s death is making matters worse because he knows he’ll never get another chance to make amends.

After word of Rishi’s passing spread around the hamlet, Jai and Laurel will join forces the next week in profoundly moving moments on Monday (July 31) to inform the kids.

Like everyone else, Archie finds it difficult to digest the information; however, when Jai snaps at the young boy, things become even more difficult. Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana), who took the brunt of Jai’s sadness on Friday (July 28), is someone that Laurel can’t help but feel sorry for.

As fans are aware, Suni is blamed by Jai for his father’s passing because he chose to spend the night with Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope) rather than go home to Holdgate on the day of the wedding.

Can Suni let himself go? Will Jai also come to the realisation that Suni wasn’t to blame?

That remains to be seen, but in the moments that follow, Jai will finally begin to process his grief as he comes to terms with the fact that his father has passed away. Archie will likely offer some support as they light candles in front of a picture of the patriarch.

Jai, however, decides to keep Suni in the dark about his paternity, especially the part about how he and Suni are brothers and not cousins.

But when Jai yells at him over the notion of calling their biological father, Amit, about the funeral arrangements, suspicions are soon raised.

Tom King (James Chase), who had been close to Rishi in recent weeks since moving into Holdgate, is saddened to discover about Rishi when he gets home from his weekend getaway.

A USB drive containing Rishi’s photos is then shared by the vet, who is soon trying his best to assist everyone as they gather to look at the pictures and remember Rishi fondly.
