Evelyn cautions Tyrone to anticipate the worst regarding the fate of a loved one in Coronation Street spoilers
In Coronation Street, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) is making an effort to connect with his biological mother Cassie (Claire Sweeney), but Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) is still observing from the sidelines because she believes Cassie will soon relapse.
A few weeks ago, Cassie told Tyrone that she is his mother. Tyrone initially found it difficult to absorb what had happened because it happened so suddenly and dramatically.
At his house, Tyrone listened as Evelyn disclosed that she had attended Ty and Fiz’s (Jennie McAlpine) wedding last Christmas knowing Cassie could have been there to witness. Evelyn said that she had known Cassie was alive for the better part of a year.
Cassie visits the pub in following episodes as Tyrone makes an effort to get to know her, and she decides to play a game of gin rummy with Kirk (Andy Whyment) and Dev (Jimmi Harkishin).
Ty finds Cassie three sheets to the wind when he gets there and takes her inside.
At number nine, Tyrone gives Cassie a pint of water and cautions her not to blow it because he is happy of how well she is recovering.
Tyrone gives Cassie £20 at the end of the week and instructs her to get something for tea.
Tyrone finds out Cassie is still in the stores when he gets back from the dentist.
Evelyn informs Tyrone that he should prepare for the worst because she is fully aware of what can occur.
When Cassie eventually returns, how will she be feeling?
“She’s just never had that family or that loving environment,” said Claire Sweeney.
She’s been with awful men, and her mother didn’t want to know. She only desires to belong to a family and to be loved. basic actions like sipping tea while watching the kids get ready and other basic scenes make this clear. My scene from yesterday. It’s like the finest thing she’s ever done in her life, and we were just walking to the bus stop when it happened.
She’s never had any of that, you know. But she desires a piece of it. And Evelyn has a lot to deal with because she had the information but withheld it from her before telling him she had passed away.
