Sarah Platt from Coronation Street is embroiled in controversy after it was discovered that her husband Adam Barlow isn’t the biological father of her pregnant child.
Fans of Coronation Street recently saw the fallout from Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) heated liaison with Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths).
Since she was still wed to her husband Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) when she became pregnant, it was unclear who the baby’s real father was.
This week, it is made known that Damon is the baby’s father thanks to Adam’s brutal discovery of the information at a surprise gender party.
It’s uncertain whether or not the couple will be able to go on after Sarah’s treachery as their love hangs in the balance.
Actress Tina O’Brien exclusively told Express.co.uk: “I think she knows the marriage is gone.
But she urgently hopes that she can change his mind.
“I believe it could be the deciding blow for that department of trust.”
Even though what he did was harsh and unpleasant, the actress continued, “There is a part of me that thinks, ‘Well she behaved appallingly.'”
“So, sure, both she and him acted inappropriately. Perhaps in a strange sense, it kind of amplifies the negative behaviour.
It hasn’t changed my opinion of her love for him; I believe she still desires to be with him.
Fans of the ITV soap opera saw Adam frantically pack his things and leave the flat at the end of Monday night’s episode, making it obvious he needed some space.
Will they be able to move past Damon being the baby’s father, or might this be the end of Sarah and Adam forever?
At the moment, Damon isn’t in Weatherfield because Adam drove him away after he tricked a criminal into thinking the bad boy had tipped off the cops.
But in the most recent episode, viewers saw him phone Sarah without realising she was expecting his child.
Tina discussed Adam and Sarah’s future and shared her wishes for the unhappy marriage.
“I’d like to think that Sarah and Adam are each other’s people, but I don’t know if they can be together,” she said. Perhaps too much has happened, and a fresh start is necessary.
“I believe that if I had my way, I’d want to see them unable to be together despite wanting to be.
“I love the idea of Sarah meeting someone new or Adam meeting someone new, and then something going wrong and they almost get back together, but they can’t.”
