This evening, Wednesday, August 23, there won’t be a new episode of EastEnders, which means that TV schedules will be without a daily dose of Walford drama for the second time this week.

The BBC One soap opera has once again been dropped from the schedule to make room for coverage of the World Athletics Championships, which usually airs new episodes between Monday and Thursday.

While sporting events frequently coincide with EastEnders airing on BBC Two, this won’t be the case tonight, thus there won’t be any new episodes.

traumatic, we understand.

The World Athletics Championships prevented us from visiting the Square on Monday, August 21, so this is the second day this week that EastEnders has not been on.

The long-running serial drama was able to catch up to where it should be on Tuesday (August 22) thanks to a double-bill, but tonight will see the show put out of order once more.

But on Thursday, August 24, there will be another double-bill, giving viewers the chance to experience both Wednesday and Thursday’s Walford drama in one sitting before next week’s major week, which will see Cindy Beale return to the Square.

The BBC iPlayer schedule, which sees daily episodes released to the streaming site ahead of their TV broadcast, remains unaltered despite the scheduling confusion, so if you can’t wait till tomorrow, you’ll be happy to know.

This means that you can actually access iPlayer right now to see the Walford drama that was supposed to air on Wednesday.

The event in question is not to be missed, with Thomas Law’s portrayal of Peter Beale settling in neatly to the Square despite having lots of delectable drama.

Peter, have fear, have great fear!

The well-known figure returned to Walford on Tuesday after learning that he has two sisters named Anna and Gina Knight that he was unaware of. Next week, the secret is expected to come to light just in time for Cindy to mount a comeback.
