The last time we saw Sonny’s devoted bodyguard Max Giambetti was many moons ago. But Derk Cheetwood, an actor, has good reason to be happy. …
Happy Birthday, Derk Cheetwood
That’s because this well-liked performer, who was born on October 8, 1973, in Bowling Green, Ohio, is celebrating his 49th birthday right now!
For a brief spell in the middle of the 2000s, Cheetwood worked at General Hospital alongside his younger brother Drew (who portrays Max’s sibling Milo) and their cousin Tyler Christopher (ex-Nikolas Cassadine).
Cheetwood’s early acting credits include appearances on TV shows like Brotherly Love, Beverly Hills, 90210, Ally McBeal, and 3rd Rock From the Sun. Although he is best known for playing the big-hearted Max, who had a crush on his boss’s wife before falling in love with his temperamental lawyer, Cheetwood is also known for his work on these shows.
Cheetwood married Cari Costner on August 5, 2006; she is the nephew of Kevin Costner, with whom Cheetwood co-starred in The Postman and for whom he also served as director. Three children—two girls (Kylie Danielle and Audrey Jane) and a boy—are the proud possessions of the couple (Cody).
