Next week on Home and Away in the UK, Andrew’s sister Tegan arrives, but will she get her wish to take Andrew to live with her?

When Andrew’s (Joshua Hewson) sister arrives in Summer Bay, it should be a joyful occasion as the family member has been missing for a long time, but there is unease all around.

It’s certainly logical that the sensitive kid might be wary of a new family member. After all, it was Margot Dafoe (Mandy McElhinney), the head of the infamous Vita Nova cult, who showed up when neighborhood cop Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) reported that Andrew’s long-lost mother had shown up.

After numerous failed efforts to free Andrew from the group’s compound, Justin (James Stewart) and Leah (Ada Nicodemou) have been attempting to convince him that he is now secure. Vita Nova appears to have split up now that Margot is in jail.

The real Esther, Andrew’s mother, had really passed away more than ten years earlier, and her remains had been stashed away in a suitcase at a storage facility. But Andrew was unaware that Tegan (Sophia Forrest), his half-sister, existed in the outside world.

Having been informed that Andrew had been found, after he was kidnapped by his father as a four-year-old, Tegan was stuck working overseas and unable to come to Summer Bay.

The following week, Justin gets a call from Missing Persons letting him know Tegan has returned to the country and is headed to Summer Bay.

This time, the police have completed a DNA test that proves Tegan is in fact Andrew’s half-sister, but Justin still wants to investigate Tegan first before granting her access to Andrew.

Meeting Justin at the coffee cart, Tegan explains that she’s been based in Antarctica, working in a research unit for a university environmental science department.

She understands why Justin is vetting her, she knows what the cult were like, but after reminding him of the DNA test, Tegan believes she’s waited long enough.

Back at the house, Andrew is nervous as he awaits Tegan’s arrival—what if she’s not who she says she is?

It’s an emotional moment for Tegan as she arrives with Justin to see Andrew standing before her, asking if he remembers her.

An overwhelmed Andrew remains silent and steps back when Tegan tries to hug him.

Why did you bring her here?” he asks Justin, before retreating to his room.

While out for a stroll with Leah, Tegan explains to her that she can’t give up on Andrew and that she believes that building a relationship with him will enable both of them to move on and create a true family life.

Leah is taken aback, not realising that Tegan’s hope is for Andrew to come and live with her.

Tegan is able to strike up a discussion with Andrew as Leah and Tegan enter the home when she notices him watching the CCTV system he installed and mentioning that similar systems are used in Antarctica.

Since it must be up to Andrew, and there is no way Andrew would go with a complete stranger, Justin isn’t really concerned when Leah informs him of Tegan’s wishes.

The initial photograph that featured on Andrew’s missing poster, showing him as a three-year-old with his teddy bear, is the one that Tegan then shows Andrew and one that she has kept with her over the years.

Tegan reveals that Esther gave the picture to her to keep because she was present when it was taken. Tegan’s inquiry about whether Andrew recalls his bear, Ted, is all the proof Andrew requires.

Theo (Matt Evans) asks Andrew how he’s feeling now that he’s been reunited with his sister as they head to get a takeout pizza after spending the remainder of the afternoon conversing with Tegan.

Andrew simply states that he’d like to get to know her better.

Back at the house, Justin is fretting about the future and has already contacted Missing Persons to have them confirm the DNA results. Tegan responds to Justin’s observation that she is moving too quickly by saying that she will not let Andrew and anybody else to be impeded by them once more.

Given Andrew’s past and the assistance he will require as he acclimates to a society he has spent the most of his life hiding from, Justin doesn’t think Tegan completely realizes what she would be agreeing to.

Although she may have the best of intentions, letting Andrew down could ruin him.

Tegan believes that Justin has already made his mind up about her—will he stand in the way of her hope to live with Andrew as a family?

There’s a further family connection with the introduction of Tegan, albeit off-screen.

Sophia Forrest, who plays the newcomer, is engaged to fellow Home and Away alumni Zara Zoe, who is of course the sister of Nicholas Cartwright (Cash)!

Zara starred alongside Nick last year, when she portrayed Millie Hudson.
