DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) is in for a rough week in Coronation Street, but things might just turn around for her.
The detective sergeant has been under immense pressure lately, having been suspended and even arrested on murder charges. It’s no surprise, then, that she’s forgotten a few important things.
One of those things is her late sister Becky’s birthday. When Lisa’s daughter, Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), announces that she’s visiting Becky’s grave to honor the occasion, Lisa feels guilty for not remembering.
Later, Carla Connor (Alison King) finds Lisa drinking heavily at the pub, and Lisa ends up crashing at Carla’s place, waking up on her sofa the next morning with a hangover.
Meanwhile, Carla, overwhelmed by her feelings for Lisa, confides in Ryan, admitting she’s in over her head.
Over the past few months, Carla and Lisa have developed a close bond, despite a brief awkwardness between them after a charged moment.
Their friendship has since grown stronger, but Carla seems to want something more. Encouraging her, Ryan, a staunch supporter of the #Swarla pairing, urges Carla to go after what she wants. Will Carla seize the opportunity when she finds Lisa getting dressed in her apartment?
Elsewhere, Betsy finds herself in a frightening situation when Logan and Matty Radcliffe (Harry Lowbridge and Seamus McGoff) corner her and steal her phone. When Lisa realizes she’s missed a message from Betsy asking for help, she’s horrified. Can she reach Betsy in time?
