Wednesday night’s episode of Emmerdale featured a throwback plot, and viewers were quick to recognize the return of a “forgotten” character.
What became of Carl King (Tom Lister), the father of Tom King (James Chase), and who was he? Fans of Emmerdale witnessed a recurrence of a previous story on Wednesday night.
Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) in the show was coping with a major issue. She’d just told everyone that she was behind the wheel on New Year’s Day when Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling) died in an automobile accident.
Her parents, Jimmy King (Nick Miles) and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler), prepared for her court appearance last week.
On their way to court on Thursday, Nicola and Jimmy learned that Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling), who was also in the crash, would no longer be charged.
For Angelica, however, things were different because she was still facing charges and might have to leave the country for years after admitting guilt.
After witnessing her father Jimmy cry in Wednesday’s episode, Angelica was upset; however, Tom King, her relative, consoled her in the village.
Tom acknowledged her feelings and remarked, “My dad passed away when I was roughly your age. I wasn’t sure how to react to it. I was terrified the next moment, and I was furious the first.”
Long-time viewers of the soap opera will recall Tom’s father Carl and his tragic demise.
However, it may have seemed a little confusing to viewers who were not familiar with the story. We go over the story that surfaced again on Wednesday night here.
Tom is the son of serial killer Carl King (Dominic Power), who was killed in a live episode in 2012 by serial killer Cameron Murray.
Shortly before this, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) had attacked him after he attempted to rape her. In 2006, Carl had also killed his own father, Tom.
Fans of ITV’s Emmerdale are concerned about a dark plotline when Tom repeatedly turns against his bride Belle Dingle next week.
Years after their initial adolescent romance, the pair got back together last year. Fans are concerned for Belle, though, as a few incidents have raised concerns that Tom might be dangerous and that a storyline involving abuse may be planned.
A few months prior, Belle had concealed the fact that, after Tom asked her out and didn’t receive the response he was hoping for, he became aggressive and shoved her, hitting her in the head. They’ve moved on from it, but lately she’s been reassuring him all the time, and he’s been doubting her commitment.
Fans are worried because he’s been acting controlling and has made fun of her and her family. The episodes airing next week will probably heighten this worry because in multiple instances, he calls her out during their wedding for no apparent reason.
